Description

This hybrid bookclub aims to nurture community fellowship and conversations around books, essays, comics, and videos created by and for people of color to better understand our world, our history, and our lives both in the ivory tower of W&M and beyond its boundaries. This recurring event is open to all W&M graduates, undergrads, postdocs, staff, admin, fellows, and faculty who identify as Black, BIPOC, Caribbean, African, MENA or a multiracial member of the Black // African Diaspora.

About the Readings
The Source of Self-Regard is arguably one of the most important collections on art, literature, history, memory, and the transformative power and politics of writing. Crafted from the essays, speeches, and musings of the late , this ancestral collection of works and wonderings is a must read for anyone and everyone interested in understanding the human condition from the viewscape of one of the twentieth century's most community intellectuals and public scholars.
