About
The W&M Badminton Club is a place for people in the College community to play badminton both competitively and just for fun. The club provides rackets, birdies, and nets, so members are only responsible for themselves.
We have members at a variety of skill levels. Some experienced members play competitively. Many just play for fun! We hold Open Tournaments once a year to meet and compete with players over the Mid-Atlantic region.
Everyone interested in playing badminton are welcome to join! You just need to be affiliated with W&M, whether you're a current student, or faculty or staff member. Subscribe to our mailing list for updates.
Dues
Casual Players dues are $30/semester
Competitive Team dues are $50/semester
Competitive Team:
Competitive team members dues include the costs for transportation and hotels for tournaments. We will be participating in at least 2 tournaments a semester. This includes tournaments at Duke, VCU, GMU, and UVA. Members are responsible for tournament entry fees and food costs.
It is encouraged to have you're own badminton rackets but club rackets will be provided.
There will be training provided for competitive team members as well as access to better birdies for sparring. There will also be occasional scrimmages against the VCU badminton team.
Casual Badminton:
Casual player are free to play during all practices. Rackets and birdies will be provided.
Waiver
To be eligible for practice, you need to complete the waivers first. This need to be done every year.

Go to https://campusrec.wm.edu and click “Intramurals” to go to the Campus Recreation Portal.

Use W&M user ID to log in and follow the instructions to go to IMLeagues.

You need to find Club Badminton first. Hover your mouse on the William & Mary icon at the upper-left corner of the page and click “sport clubs”.

Click the blue hyperlink “Club Badminton”

Click “Join Team” and follow the prompts.

Click “Home” at the upper-left corner. You should now see “Club Badminton” under “My Teams”.

Complete every required form as prompted on the page. (Should be two forms)
