About
Founded in 2003, Tribe Sailing is a student-run club sports team here at the College of William & Mary. We compete against both club and varsity teams all along the Eastern Coast, and are a competitive member of the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) division.
We hold practice every day of the week from 3:30 pm to 6 pm and sail out of Kingsmill Marina on the James River. Our fleet consists of 12 Z420s and 3 motorboats. While team members are not required to come to practice every day, we think you’ll find yourself wanting to! We typically compete in 4 to 5 regattas each semester, both at home and away, and are currently ranked as the 22nd team out of over 50 teams within the MAISA division.
Off the water, we host tons of team bonding events and hold official meetings every Tuesday night at 8 pm, with team dinner beforehand at 7:15 pm.
As a club, we welcome all who love sailing and anyone interested in learning!! Don’t worry if you don’t know a mainsheet from a mizzenmast; if you want to learn, we want to teach you. We welcome the chance to talk to you at any time, either in person or via email.
