About
Hello from the Hermanas of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Incorporada (SIA)! Our precious and rare sorority was founded in New York in September 1990 by 13 lovely ladies. In April of 2013, 9 young women brought this organization to William & Mary in hopes of providing a space for other women of the College to grow, learn, and prosper during their time here! But the Hermandad does not stop at graduation, for once an Hermana, always an Hermana. This is a sisterhood like no other!
Our goals as an organization include:
- To constantly strive towards the expansion of awareness of the Latino and diverse cultures to the community
- To promote sisterhood and leadership among members
- To serve as models of excellence in education and achievement among women
Catch us giving back to the community, doing lots of FUNdraising events (empanada sales, worry doll sales, churros y champurrado sales, etc), hosting social events (more food here), hosting educational lectures with other organizations, strolling (look this up on youtube!), and of course working hard as W&M students!
