Women's Club Soccer
About
At William & Mary we have two Women's Club Soccer teams, Green and Gold. Both teams are entirely student-run, meaning members of the team set up our games, handle our budget, and run our practices. Both teams enjoy playing competitive soccer at a high level.
The Green team has three mandatory practices a week. In the Fall season, we play in SCSA league with games almost every weekend. This league is comprised of primarily Virginia schools, including University of Lynchburg, James Madison University, ODU, and CNU. The season continues in the spring with friendlies and out-of-league games. We also attend one or two tournaments a year, where we play teams from up and down the East Coast. In the 2021 Fall Season, the Green team made it to Regionals! We host a variety of fundraisers (Fall Ball Brawl - a 5v5 tournament) and have events with other clubs weekly. The Gold team holds 3 practices a week, with attendance at two practices being mandatory. The team plays games and tournaments in both fall and spring against schools such as Georgetown, Elon University, University of Mary Washington, and VCU. Our team is comprised of women from all over the country, from many different academic passions and extra-curricular involvements, brought together by a love of playing good soccer, all in the name of GSL (Gold Soccer Love).
