Transactional Law Team
About
The Transactional Law Team is dedicated to providing a forum for William & Mary law students to explore and improve their transactional law ability, skills, and interest through preparation for and participation in transactional law competitions. We engage faculty advisors and alumni to understand the legal aspects of the "deal."
The activities of the Transactional Law Team include competing in tournaments held throughout the United States; hosting tournaments independently or in conjunction with other law schools; networking with students at other law schools, colleges, and universities related to transactional law issues; and networking with alumni of the college or law school to further the knowledge, exposure to, and experience in transactional law practices. The team hosts a competition, the Colonial Cup, which occurs in the Spring Semester. In addition, the team meets often throughout the semester to practice negotiation and drafting skills, as well as to cover various areas of law relevant to the making and closing of deals.
We encourage any law student who is interested in learning more about transactional law to contact the team for more information. For more information about the Colonial Cup, visit: https://law.wm.edu/studentlife/competition-teams/colonial-cup/
