Water Polo
About
William & Mary Water Polo started in the fall of ’07 with the goal of bringing the sport of water polo to campus. We are a co-ed team that accepts all levels of experience with the sport. We participate in at least one tournament a year and play ~3-4 games a semester. The majority of the teams we play are local colleges and masters teams, but sometimes we will have an overnight tournament. If you are interested in playing with us or have any further questions, please contact Erin Althouse. See you in the pool!
WHAT DO I NEED TO PLAY?
-The ability to swim and tread water. Water polo is played in deep water, so unless you’ve got gills you’ll need to be able to keep your head up! Don’t worry if you’re not the strongest swimmer – that comes with practice! We’ll teach you all the tricks of treading… if we were all in perfect shape we wouldn’t need to have practices!

–Dues money: $40 per semester. Discounts for safety officers and van drivers. What a great deal for the most fun club on campus!
-A signed waiver for Campus Recreation, click Here to find one. Just click “intramurals” at the top, sign in to IMLeagues, click sport clubs at the top, find the water polo team page, and click Join!
–CPR/First Aid Certifications, if you have them. Since we have to provide our own safety officers, anyone who can help us out is GREATLY appreciated. Plus, you get the cool title of ‘Safety Officer’ to put on your resume!
